Twin Rivers is a private-independent treatment centre in Plettenberg Bay-South Africa. The owner/manager, David Briskham has been in recovery for over 25 years.

David moved to South Africa from the UK in 2001 as he had been offered a job at a residential treatment centre in Plettenberg Bay-South Africa. David became somewhat disillusioned about the quality of care at the centre he worked at and so decided to open his own rehab, with his wife Caroline’s support and modelled it on the kind of treatment David had experienced in the UK.

Twin Rivers opened its doors in 2011 and gradually transformed from an addiction’s treatment centre into a Premier Dual Diagnosis Centre that has built a solid reputation as one of the best treatment options in South Africa.

Twin Rivers successes are due to effective programme development managed by a respectful and authentic approach towards client individuality which is essential when addressing elements of addiction and mental health disorders.

International clients usually commit to a three-month period of treatment which is well documented as the most beneficial approach as ‘quick fix’ programmes simply do not work.

Shannon Hart and David Briskham realised that in the best interest of quality client care it made sense to join forces and create an affordable recovery package for clients who simply cannot afford UK residential treatment costs.

Shannon can assess clients and prepare them for residential treatment at Twin Rivers, during which time Shannon can support family-partners and friends and educate them regarding the reality of addiction and mental health recovery processes. Shannon will also facilitate an aftercare programme and family counselling when the client returns home.

Both Shannon and David fully appreciate the urgent need for affordable -quality care that is desperately needed in the United Kingdom due to the severe impact of the pandemic.
